Sara
and Conchobar are making love in her apartment. Irons is sitting
in a chair in his mansion aware of what's going on.
Sara
leaves for work. Conchobar gets dressed and goes into the kitchen.
Someone in a black ski mask breaks into the apartment and rushes
Conchobar. They get into a fight. Conchobar runs for the door, but
two more people in masks enter. Conchobar tries, but can't fight
them off. They cover his head, tie him up and drag him into a van.
His abductors take him to a warehouse.
Sara
and Jake are at a hot dog stand. They walk up some steps and see
Sergeant Orlinski talking to some hookers. A pimp drives up and
walks over to Orlinski. Jake thinks that its a routine hooker rouse,
but Sara sees Orlinski take a payoff from the pimp. Unaware that
she was foreseeing the future, she talks to Jake about the payoff.
Jake wonders how she knew in advance. Orlinski drives off with one
of the hookers. Sara tells Jake to buy a roll of film. She pushes
the film into the roll as if the film is ready for processing.
A
cop informs Sara that someone broke into her apartment. Sara and
Jake go to the apartment and see the mess. Sara has a Witchblade
vision and sees flashes of Conchobar's abduction in a shattered
mirror.
They
go back to the station. Sara tries to convince Captain Dante that
Conchobar was kidnapped, but Dante refuses to commit resources to
help her because they work in homicide and Conchobar isn't dead.
Dante questions whether he was even abducted and thinks that he
may have just taken off. Jake offers to help.
Conchobar
is singing in the warehouse. One of his abductors, Fiona, orders
him to stop. Conchobar tells them they have the wrong guy, but Sean,
another abductor, proves him wrong. Conchobar's real name is John
Patrick Dougherty. He is the youngest of four brothers, the third
of which is Edward, who's wanted for terrorism, murder, destruction
of property, kidnapping and extortion and is known to have instigated
a concerted attack in Belfast in 1996 in which twenty car bombs
were detonated in one day. Conchobar's abductors are Irish militants
from the Northern government who are using Conchobar to get to his
fugitive brother. They plan to bring Conchobar back to Ireland,
offer him to his brother in a one for one exchange and kill them
both when his brother shows up to claim him. Conchobar tells them
that his brother never cared for him and would never show up to
save him.
Sara's
at home holding Conchobar's guitar. She walks over to the guitar
case and opens it. She finds lyrics to a song entitled "Sara"
and recalls their better times together. She's flipping through
family photos in his guitar case and comes across a photo of three
men sitting with a gun lying on the table in front of them. The
Witchblade eye glows, and she sees flashes of the attacks in Belfast.
Sara
goes back to the precinct and enters a security code to log onto
the CIA secure site. She finds info in the database on one of the
men in the photo, Edward Dougherty. Sara turns the monitor off when
Jake walks in. Sara and Jake take off to Hell's Kitchen. Dante walks
into the office and turns the monitor back on to see what Sara's
up to.
Sara
and Jake walk into an Irish pub. Sara asks the bartender for someone
named Connor Dourier, an Irish hitman. When Dourier hears his name,
he tries to run, but Sara grabs him and slams him into a door to
a storage room. His head bangs into the mirror on the door. Sara
takes the bloodied Dourier into the storage room, and Jake goes
in after her. The reflection in the shattered mirror shows Ian in
his armor. Sara takes several swings at Connor. She shoves him and
stabs a knife into the wall near his head and puts his hand on the
knife handle. She tells him that he's under arrest for assaulting
a police officer and will claim that he came after her with that
knife. Jake tells her that he's wants to help her, but is against
what she's doing. Sara tells Jake to give her his cell phone. Jake
hands over his phone and leaves. She gives the phone to Dourier
and threatens to kill him if he doesn't find Conchobar for her.
Danny appears, but fails to calm her. Connor, unable to see Danny,
is confused when Sara appears to be talking to herself. Dourier
finds someone who has info on Conchobar.
Sara
goes to the warehouse and meets Oliver the bodyguard. She backhands
him with the Witchblade (which has morphed into a gauntlet), and
he goes flying. Fiona, with gun in hand, complements Sara on the
spectacular move and her bracelet. Fiona takes her to see Conchobar.
Sara asks them what they want. Conchobar tells her their plans.
Fiona, agitated, shoots Conchobar in the leg and tells Sara that
when Edward blew up the cars in Belfast, her fiancé was in
one of them. Sean asks for two million dollars. Fiona has a gun
to Conchobar and wants her bracelet. Sara, remembering the loved
ones she's already lost and not wanting to lose another, reluctantly
throws the Witchblade over to Fiona.
Ian
enters a party that Irons is throwing at his mansion and walks over
to Irons. Irons tells Ian that the Witchblade is off Sara. Ian asks
whether the Witchblade was testing her and whether it's the Periculum.
Irons wants him to go find out.
Jake
enters the office, waiting for Sara, who's late, to arrive. Dante
is already in their office and asks where Sara is. Jake lies and
tells him that she's stuck in traffic. Dante, knowing that Sara
rides a motorcycle, tells Jake that it's not his job to bend the
rules for the slacker. Jake tries to defend Sara. Dante tells him
that she's doing a poor job training him.
Sara
goes to Irons for the two million dollars. Irons walks down the
staircase toward her. He tells her that she was warned the Witchblade
abandons its wielder at her darkest hour. He explains that the Witchblade
might be jealous of her recent involvements or maybe she is a courier
for the Witchblade sent to deliver it to the true bearer. Irons
puts the moves on her, touching her in the face and putting his
face close to hers. He reminds her that he had offered her the world
once, but she refused him. Sara offers to accept it now, but Irons
tells her that he just wants the pleasure of rejecting her as she
once did him. Irons walks away, refusing to give her the money.
Sara leaves. Irons walks back up the staircase and is met by Ian.
Irons grabs Ian in the face and tells him not to come back without
the Witchblade.
Sara
confronts Orlinski in front of the precinct lockup to tell him she
saw him taking a payoff and a prostitute. She shows him the roll
of film she and Jake bought earlier, pretending that she has pictures
of the incident. Sara wants the keys to the lockup and tells him
to leave. She goes into the lockup and grabs bags of money. Danny
watches in silence.
Fiona
is admiring the blade at the warehouse. The eye begins to glow.
Sean walks in to inform Fiona, who was upset that he would release
Conchobar for the money, that he lied to Sara and that he wouldn't
trade Conchobar for any amount of money.
Sara is home arming herself, preparing for a showdown with the
Irish militants.
Orlinski reports his encounter with Sara to Dante. Dante tells
him that it's a problem and picks up the phone.
Sara goes back to the warehouse and tosses a backpack filled with
money to Sean. Sean inspects the money and knows it's counterfeit.
Ian appears and tells Sara that it was a test and that she passed.
Ian shows them the real money. One of the Irish militants goes over
to Ian to check the money. A blade comes out of the front of Ian's
boot. Ian kicks him with the blade, slashing his throat. A shoot-out
begins.
During
the shoot-out, the Witchblade comes alive on Fiona's arm. Fiona,
amazed at what's happened, puts down her gun and starts deflecting
bullets with the gauntlet. Sara runs over and tries to untie Conchobar,
but Fiona gets there and attacks them with the blade. Fiona cuts
and injures Sara with the sword. Sara fires at her, but runs out
of bullets.
Fiona
stabs Conchobar in the chest and kills him, but is then unable to
remove the blade from his chest. Sara reaches for a gun and fires
repeatedly at Fiona, killing her. Sean tries to shoot at Ian, but
Ian dodges the bullet. Sean points his gun at Sara. Ian makes a
spin move toward Sean and kills him. Sara's crying over Conchobar.
Ian grabs the bracelet from Fiona's wrist and puts it back on Sara,
who has fallen unconscious next to Conchobar.
Ian
takes his glove off and tastes a drop of Sara's blood. He then cuts
his finger with the ring on his other hand and tastes a drop of
his own blood. Ian blows her a kiss, kneels before her and then
leaves. Jake arrives later and wakes her. They leave before the
police arrive.
Ian
returns the money to Irons. Irons doesn't care about the money and
tosses it into the fireplace. He wants to know where the Witchblade
is. Ian lies and reports that the Witchblade was back on Sara by
the time he got there and wouldn't come off even when she was unconscious.
Irons hits Ian in the face and tells him that he should have cut
off her hand. Ian leaves. Irons walks over to the fireplace to watch
his money burn.
