A
young lady with short brown hair, wearing a simple white blouse,
is reading a poem alone in an empty library. Someone hiding behind
a bookshelf doesn't see the real her. He sees her dressed in a black
skimpy outfit with heavy makeup and red hair. He walks up to her.
The young lady recognizes him and smiles. He walks closer. She screams.
Dante,
Jake, Orlinski, Burges and other members are in a Bulls meeting
in an autoshop or garage. Dante is angry that they lost Sara at
the VCN newsroom. Dante also discusses a new item: the disappearance
of Kate Havilland, the daughter of Congressman Roland Havilland,
who was last seen in the study lounge at UNY. He passes out fliers
with Kate Havilland's description (sex: female; race: Caucasian;
age: 22; height: 5' 8 1/2"; weight: 115lbs; build: thin; complexion:
fair; hair: brown; eyes: brown). When Dante says he'll assign the
Havilland case to a new member, Burges thinks he'll get the case,
but Dante gives it to Jake.
Irons
turns his wheel chair around to talk to his doctor. He's aged even
more. He brushes his hand over his head and hair falls out. The
doctor points out that his birth certificate says he's 96 years
old. He has brought some growth hormone, but Irons calls it snake
oil. The doctor reminds Irons that his specialty is genetics. Ian
takes a scalpel out from the doctor's bag. Irons insisted that the
doctor be an expert in longevity. Irons insists on the other and
wants to use a larger piece. Elizabeth Bronte's preserved body is
posed on a couch. She's wearing a pink dress with long lace-trimmed
sleeves that cover her hand. An electric saw is on a nearby stool.
The doctor thinks her cells may be unraveling. Irons may be developing
a tolerance or immunity to it.
Jake
opens the shower door and reaches for his towel, which isn't there.
Sara points a gun at Jake and whistles to get his attention. Jake
turns around, sees her and quickly empties a bowl to use to cover
himself. Sara wants to know Dante's next move. Jake tells her that
they have two priorities: Sara and the senator's daughter. Jake
asks Sara for help in finding the senator's daughter. He gives her
his personal cell, so they can keep in touch. She tosses his towel
over his face.
Charleyne
is walking on the street. Sara walks up to her. Sara has a cap and
a pair of sunglasses on. She's wearing a black jacket with the hood
over her head. She wants to put Charleyne on the witness stand to
testify, but Charleyne refuses. Charleyne gave Sara a place to stay
for a while and is afraid to do anymore. She walks off. Danny appears
and tells Sara that Charleyne won't help her and Sara won't help
Jake. In her universe, parallel lines always meet. Danny looks across
the street to an alley where a group of people have gathered. Sara
looks that way and sees the Witchblade glowing. She finds a young
lady in a black skimpy outfit and long curly red hair lying in the
alley. She can't find a pulse. She has a Witchblade flash that shows
someone making her up into a hooker. Sara sees her necklace with
a sorority pendant (omega alpha epsilon?), and knows it's the senator's
daughter. Sara disappears when the cops arrive.
Jake's in his
office. He gets a call from Sara that a dead hooker in the morgue
is the congressman's daughter. Dante walks by. He and Jake leave
together.
Sara
goes to Gabriel and shows him a standard Smith and Wesson soft tip
White Bulls bullet. Sara asks him to find who could've tattooed
a bullet that way. Sara's trying to build a case and connecting
the bullet to certain people might just be the key.
At
the morgue. Jake and Dante are looking at Kate Havilland's body.
Dante says the killer's problem is terminal, suggesting the Bulls
will kill whoever killed Kate Havilland.
At
Irons' mansion. Ian is holding Irons' head still while the doctor
carefully injects the serum near his eye. The doctor begins to talk
about the drug losing its effects after a few doses. Ian grabs a
scalpel and holds it to the doctors' throat. The doctor tells him
that it isn't the way to talk to the man who helped usher him into
existence. Irons' treatment fails. He remains old and frail. He
breaks a vase with his cane in frustration. He pulls a loose molar
out of his mouth and says he needs fresh blood. Ian nods and leaves.
Sara calls Jake
at the station and tells him to call ViCAP for a serial murderer.
Jake tell her to meet him at midnight.
Gabriel
goes to visit Benkstrom, a master engraver. Gabriel shows him the
engraved bullet. Benkstrom thinks it presents a high level of craftsmanship,
but doesn't take the credit. Gabriel tells him not to mention this
to anyone and leaves. Benkstrom picks up the phone and calls Dante.
Sara
enters Jake's apartment. She sees Jake's pictures on the mantle
and recalls Jake helping her in the past. The Witchblade flashes
and shows Jake offering info to her, but also links him to the White
Bulls. She checks his drawer and finds a Bulls bullet. Burges and
Orlinski are waiting outside Jake's apartment. Jake sees them and
talks to them in a raised voice to warn Sara about the unexpected
company. Sara is on the second floor. When she sees the door opening,
she runs into a room. Orlinski and Burges look around for her. Jake
finds the bullet on the counter and knows that Sara was there.
Jake
enters Dante's office angry that he sent Orlinski and Burges to
his place last night. Dante is on the phone with the congressman
and tells him that he'll be at the funeral. He tells Jake that they
were there to protect him. Jake says Sara was there, but he had
to talk louder to protect Orlinski and Burges.
Sara
goes to Kate's funeral. She puts her hand on Kate's. Kate awakes.
Danny appears and puts his hand on Kate's. Sara asks her who the
killer is. Kate looks over to her right. Sara looks where Kate was
looking and sees a red haired man dressed in a light blue suit.
The
man introduces himself to her as Lee, Kate's departmental advisor
at UNY. They shake hands. The Witchblade shows flashes of Kate's
murder. Sara looks accusingly at him. Lee takes off. Sara tries
to go after him, but sees Dante and turns around and runs. Dante
calls for backup. Sara exits the building from a side door and sees
Ian. Ian
pleads to Sara to go with him because Irons needs her, but she's
more concerned about finding Lee. Ian takes a scalpel out and cuts
Sara's palm. He says he did it to save her life. He puts a handkerchief
on the bleeding palm and uses his hands to hold hers. Sara manages
to pull away from Ian after several tries. Dante comes out of the
same door. Sara and Ian run off in different directions. Dante loses
them.
Sara runs around
a corner and slows down. She puts her cap on and calls Jake to meet
in person. Jake tells her Dante gave him the bullet to use on her.
Sara wants Jake to meet her at the corner of George and Jones.
At
George and Jones. Sara spots Jake and tells him to pretend that
he's waiting for a bus. Sara and Jake are on opposite sides of a
fence. Sara
wants to know why he didn't tell her about the bullet. Jake didn't
want to frighten her even more. Sara checks the Witchblade, which
remains dormant. Jake says he's in with the White Bulls. They recruited
him to get to her. Sara tells him about Lee. The report from ViCAP
that a killer with a dead hooker MO hit four colleges in the tri-states
in the past two years. He always strikes three times before he moves
on, always within a ten day window. Profile says he goes for the
innocent, virtuous types. He then rapes and kills and dresses them
up as whores. He makes them into something dirty, something they're
not. No doubt trying to justify his own sins.
Ian offers the
bloody handkerchief to Irons.
Orlinski
and Burges are at Gabriel's door. Gabriel opens the door, sees them
and tries to close it and run. Burges tackles him and in the process
breaks one of the display cases. Orlinski breaks an urn and tosses
a vase to Burges. Burges lets go of Gabriel momentarily to catch
the vase. Gabriel makes a run for the door, but Burges grabs him.
Gabriel's head bangs into the door. Orlinski punches Gabriel a few
times, but can't get Gabriel to tell them where Sara is. Orlinski
reaches into Gabriel's pocket and finds a White Bulls bullet. They
leave with Gabriel.
Sara
pushes Gabriel's door open with gun in hand. She sees flashes of
Orlinski and Burges with Gabriel. Danny appears. He tells her that
Gabriel isn't dead, but she should hurry. Sara calls Jake at the
station. Jake
says the guy's name is Leeman Bostwick, a pseudo grad student at
UNY tutoring Kate Havilland in English Lit. He met her at Starbucks
the night of the murder, prior to her going to study. Sara asks
Jake if Gabriel is held at the station. Jake passed by holding earlier,
but didn't see him. Jake sees Dante, Burges and Orlinski having
a powwow in Dante's office. Sara asks for Leeman's number and tells
Jake to find Gabriel. Leeman's number is (212)555-0198.
Burges drives
into an alley.
Leeman
is walking up a flight of stairs to an upper floor of the library
toward someone holding a book up. The person is Sara. Leeman walks
up to her and asks if she's the one who called to arrange a tutoring
session. Sara puts the book down. Lee recognizes her from the funeral
and runs. Sara runs after him.
Burges tells
Gabriel to get out of the trunk. Bostwick and Sara run out of the
Library of Arts and Sciences Studies and crosses a busy street to
a park. Lazar sees them run across the street and walks away.
Burges has a
gun to Gabriel's back. They walk into the alley.
Sara's chasing
Lee in the park.
Burges
and Gabriel enter Benkstrom's shop. Burges shoots and kills Benkstrom
after he confirms that Gabriel was there the other day.
Sara's gaining
ground on Lee. She jumps off a picnic table and knocks Lee down.
They get into a fight.
Burges kills Benkstrom because the Bulls think if Gabriel can find him, so can others. Burges tells
Gabriel to get on his knees.
Lee
is lying on the ground. Sara's Witchblade has transformed into a
gauntlet with a blade. Lee pleads for his life. Sara stabs the blade
into the ground between Lee's legs.
Gabriel's
pleading for his life. Jake shoots Burges in the back and saves
Gabriel.
McGrath
and another uniform cop arrive at the park. Sara tells McGrath that
Lee has just admitted to murdering the Congressman's daughter and
walks off. McGrath recognizes Sara and tells her he has to bring
her in. Sara tells him he'll have to shoot her in the back and walks
away. McGrath doesn't go after her.
At
Irons' mansion. The doctor injects Sara's blood into Irons. Irons
takes a deep breath. His age reverses. He rises from his chair in
triumph. The doctor is amazed at the transformation. Irons walks
over to Ian, who's sitting on the steps with an agonizing look on
his face. Irons tells Ian he knows what Ian tried to do. If the
experiment failed, they could have saved Sara, but since it succeeded,
Ian knows what he needs to do. Irons' life is in his hands.
Sara
is sitting on a sidewalk sipping her coffee. Jake walks up to her
and tells her Lars Benkstrom's dead. He can't find Charleyne and
the Bulls kept Gabriel's bullet. Just when Sara thinks she's worst
off than where she started, Jake shows her his FBI badge. Jake's
a field agent for the FBI, Department of Justice task force. He
posed as her partner to bring down the Bulls. Sara sees Danny from
a distance. Jake puts his sunglasses on and walks off with Sara.
