TORONTO -- The witch is back.

The Top Cow comic book title Witchblade, spun into a TV movie for cable network TNT here last fall, is expanding into an 11-episode summer series. Four months of Mississauga-based production get underway Feb. 20.

Yancy Butler will reprise her lead role as heroine Sara Pezzini, the New York homicide cop who battles evil, fights to avenge her father's death and wears many skimpy outfits. She's aided by the Witchblade, a powerful, ancient and sentient gauntlet with the capacity for world destruction. David Chokachi co-stars as Sara's partner Detective Jake McCartey. Also returning are Anthony Cistaro as Kenneth Irons, a billionaire obsessed with possessing the Witchblade, Eric Etabari as Iron's henchman Ian Nottingham, and Will Yun Lee as Sara's dead partner, Danny Woo.

TNT's August premiere of the Witchblade movie attracted nearly 3.5 million households, beating that week's rerun of Ally McBeal.
